One hail of a storm

I bitch about the weather a lot, but sometimes the weather in Calgary can be damn exciting.  As long as you don’t suffer hail damage.  That sucks.

But today around the middle of the day there was an INTENSE hail storm around here.  My mother says it was the biggest hail she’s ever seen.  It was golf ball size.  I looked at the sky as the storm was roiling and boiling, and it looked something like this:

And when the rain started, it went from a few very big drops to “raining sideways in sheets” very fast.  I’ve seen the rain start that explosively before – literally in seconds from nothing to full-on monsoon.

And on the way home, there were chopped and sliced up leaves everywhere.  Calgary and the surrounding area get some of the worst hailstorms in the world.  They aren’t THE worst, but we have by far the highest dollar value in damage claims from hail.  Go us!

Well, I’m waiting for one of my lady friends on NiteFlirt to come back online.  Then we will chat all about how she is a robot and how she is programmed to obey my commands.

Ah, the pleasures I afford myself.  Giggity.
