Song of the Day – “Atom Heart Mother” by Pink Floyd

I’m feeling lousy today, so I’ll make this post an easy one.

Part 1
Part 2

Wait a minute… didn’t I already talk about this song on this here blog?

<checks>

Okay, I mentioned it.  And I mentioned how the band members had not considered it to be in their top ten accomplishments of fave Pink Floyd tunes.  So let’s have them play Comfortably Numb for the millionth fucking time.  I’m actually quite sick of that song, and most of The Wall, but now I’m being grumpy.

But what is this?  David Gilmour playing Atom Heart Mother in 2008??? With a brass and choral ensemble?

Neato.  If I wasn’t so tired, I’d check out some more of this performance.  But now I’ll just say what I know about the original recording.

I like it.

Okay, I’m done.  I can go to bed now.  No, no, no.  That’s not fair to you.  You opened this url in your browser for a reason, and gawl dern it, I’m gonna step up to the plate and do an honest to goodness review of this song.

But please, read this in Mr. T’s voice.

Sucka!

<passes out and wakes up on a plane in the air over Central America>
